Desktop Relocations | Desktop Tasks |
Getting
everyone’s desktop computer uninstalled, moved and reconnected can be a
daunting task for any company. We have the staff and experience to help
you through the process. As with the Servers, we conduct a walkthrough
and a physical inventory of all equipment prior to the move. This alerts
us to anything that's unusual and identifies situations needing special
labeling or handling. Just before the move, we conduct a walkthrough to
verify the inventory of your equipment.

Each
desktop system and its peripherals is pulled down, all cables placed into
bags and prepared for transport. Each piece is checked to ensure it is
properly labelled with all discrepancies between the master de-install
lists and the actual hardware de-installed immediately reported to the
site-supervisor. Each station is the picked up and carted and each
loaded cart is "shrink wrapped" to protect the equipment from the elements.
Care is taken to ensure that all portions of each station travel together
on the same cart. This allows each station to be immediately reinstalled
once it arrives at the destination and is placed on the desk. Any problems
or discrepancies are again immediately identified and reported to the site-supervisor
for resolution. System reinstallation includes all the cable management
that may be required.

Once
a sufficient number of computers have been reassembled and the network
is ready, we begin power-on testing and network connectivity testing. Once
the systems are installed, testing of the systems takes place, according
to a script agreed to with the client. Post-move support is an integral
part of our work. We don’t consider the job done until everything is up
and running. We’ll work with your IT department to resolve any open
problems as quickly as possible.
